This movie is so highly rated that I expected much more from it. I was a little disappointed. I've enjoyed most of Laxman Utekar's work as a cinematographer, but with Mimi, the screenplay and directing are just not quite tight enough for modern cinema. Not that the movie isn't enjoyable. It is easy to watch and enjoy. The premise and conflict are reasonable. (Although I understand this practice involving foreigners is now illegal anyway.) I just expected more from Utekar I guess.
