_**Snowy wilderness crime adventure with kick-axx Gina Carano and Richard Dreyfuss**_ In the wintry wilderness of the Great Northwest, an ex-military woman (Gina Carano) seeks to save her son from a band of kidnappers led by a psycho named “Father” (Richard Dreyfuss). Brendan Fehr is on hand as a yokel she sorta teams-up with to fulfill her mission. "Daughter of the Wolf" (2019) is a snowy crime thriller with elements of “Deliverance” (1972), “First Blood” (1982), “The Grey” (2011), “Deadfall” (2012) and "Sugar Mountain" (2016). While the locations and outdoors photography are top-of-the-line, it’s the least of these because it needed more human interest, although it has some. I’d put it on par with “Braven” (2018). They thankfully used real wolves rather than CGI. The black one is magnificent. The movie runs 1 hour, 28 minutes, and was shot in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. GRADE: B-/C+
