So after the bloody revolution began in Paris in 1789, a priceless statue of Queen Marie Antoinette went missing. Many centuries later, amongst a rural American community, rumour is rife that this very treasure is hidden deep beneath their local "Foggy Mountain". Bored and a bit restless, local geeks Martin Herlihy, John Higgins and Ben Marshall - the characters all keep the christian names of their actors to keep it simple - decide to prove their mettle and so set off to find it. Along the way they encounter two park rangers "Lisa" (Megan Stalter) and "Taylor" (X Mayo) who cotton on to their plan and decide to let the boys do the heavy lifting as they combat the wilderness, a rather bizarre cult led by "Deetch" (Bowen Yang) and hopefully make it back to the supermarket they call work as heroes... This isn't terrible, this film - there is a fun chemistry between the three lads, but it's nowhere near enough to sustain a full length feature. The humour slips into an almost farcical style of slapstick after about ten minutes of character development and then struggles to stay entertaining as the story struggles to keep pace with, well, the pace - it doesn't hang about. To be fair, it's not boring but it's all a bit too crass and comes across more a compendium of "Indiana Jones" or "National Treasure" inspired short sketches with some working better than others. Watchable, but entirely forgettable, sorry.

I recently watched a film that falls into the category of cheesy, funny comedies, one of those offbeat and quirky comedy movies. I must admit, I may have a personal connection to this film, but I will try to give an unbiased opinion. Is it a flawless movie? Not at all, especially with the slightly over-the-top CGI on the hawk. However, despite its imperfections, it manages to be an enjoyable watch. This film has a lot going for it, and it will definitely leave you in stitches with its humor. There are moments that will have you rolling on the floor laughing, while others may make you question the level of goofiness. Overall, I would definitely consider watching it again. It's worth a try, so why not hop onto Peacock and start streaming now? Trust me, it's a treasure worth discovering. #pleasedontdestroy #pleasedontdestroythetreasureoffoggymountain No likes yet Remove Ads
