Anita Monteiro (b. 2007) is a Brazilian filmmaker and photographer based in Montreal, Quebec. Their work explores absurd intimacy through surreal, constructed worlds. A Toronto International Film Festival Next Wave alumnus, Anita's films have screened internationally at festivals including Toronto Youth Shorts and Busan International Kids & Youth Film Festival. Their short film Teeth Don't Have Sex received the Prix Coup de Cœur du Festival du Nouveau Cinéma and was selected to represent Concordia University at the Pan-Canadian Student Film Meetings (RCPÉ) as a first-year student. Anita is currently pursuing a BFA in Film Production at Concordia University and continues to develop weirder things with every project.
