Justin M. Seaman is an American film director, writer, producer, and editor known for his work in the independent horror genre. Raised in Claysville, Pennsylvania, Seaman developed an early love for filmmaking and horror cinema, drawing inspiration from classic genre films of the 1980s and 1990s. His work is characterized by a strong sense of nostalgia, practical effects, and a deep appreciation for traditional horror storytelling.
He is best known for writing and directing The Barn (2016), a Halloween-set slasher film that serves as a tribute to vintage horror. Set in 1989, the film gained attention for its retro aesthetic and grassroots production approach, earning recognition on the festival circuit and among horror fans. Seaman later expanded the franchise with The Barn Part II (2022), continuing a story he first conceived as a child.
