Annalise Ophelian is a documentary film maker, psychotherapist, and consultant based in San Francisco. Her work focuses on decolonizing the documentary film making process by centering participants as key collaborators in the storytelling process, and her work is informed by the principles of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, a psychological qualitative research method which seeks to explore how individuals create meaning and understanding of their own experiences. She is interested in stories of racial and gender justice, and how targeted communities use resilience as a form of resistance.
